The Cook County Health Department said Friday that the county has a population of 9,714,819, according to its most recent data.
The Cook County Department of Public Health and Hospitals reported that the population increased by 1,063 people between November 1, 2017 and March 31, 2018.
The county’s population peaked at 10,521,821 on October 27, 1883, according the county’s data.
The county has had a population growth rate of 4.7 percent from 2000 to 2021.
The census data comes as the Cook Health Department has reported a slight uptick in infections due to the coronavirus.
In addition to the new coronaviruses, the county had a total of 1,569 confirmed cases of coronavirence, the department said.
The new cases are due to more people having access to clean water, the new CDC guidelines said.
The new coronas also show a slight increase in the county population compared to last year, when the county added an additional 1,890 people.
The population increased an average of 1.9 percent in the first nine months of 2018, the data showed.
