Serve it with apple slices and a side of apple slices, or use it as a dessert.

Ingredients 1 1/2 pounds of fresh apple, peeled and cut into slices 1 cup apple cider vinegar (I used Trader Joe’s brand) 2 cups all-purpose flour 1/4 teaspoon salt 1/3 cup sugar 2 tablespoons apple cider or applejack juice 1 tablespoon pom pom or apple sauce 1 1-ounce can cream of tartar 1/8 teaspoon ground cloves 1/16 teaspoon cinnamon 1/32 teaspoon ground nutmeg 1/64 teaspoon ground allspice Directions Mix all ingredients in a large mixing bowl and let sit for 10 minutes.

Set aside to cool.

Preheat oven to 350°F.

Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a small bowl, combine the vinegar, flour, salt, and sugar.

Mix well and set aside.

In another large bowl, whisk together the cream of Tartar, cloves, cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspices.

Add the cider vinegar and mix well.

Add in the pom, pom sauce, apple slices.

Using your fingers, stir well to combine.

Pour into prepared pie crust.

Bake in the oven for about 20 minutes or until edges are browned and the pie crust is set.

Remove from the oven and let cool.

Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.

You can make this apple pie as a stand-alone dish or make it into a pie crust with apple sauce and a drizzle of apple pie pie sauce.

Recipe Notes You can use a pastry bag to wrap the apples and pom pies and then freeze them for later.

You could also make this pie using leftover apple slices or just add a few extra slices to make it thicker.
