Cook County Hospital, Illinois Medical Center to Offer $100M to Microwave Egg Cookers

Cook County Medical Center (CCMC) announced today that it will begin offering $100 million in federal stimulus funding to the medical center to help expand and expand its microwave ovens.

The medical center announced the announcement today after a $20 million incentive package was announced last month by the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).

The Microwaving Eggs Cooker project will be funded through a three-year federal stimulus grant, which includes $10 million in direct matching grants and $5 million in competitive grant funding.

The Microwaves Cooker program will also support Microwavius, an innovative and locally owned company that manufactures microwave oven accessories.

Microws Egg Cookermove project will provide $50 million in funding to support the Microwerow Egg Cookery program, which will be supported by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the US Department of Agriculture (USDA), the Department and Budget Office, and the National Science Foundation (NSF).
